Seasons

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven..."
Ecclesiastes 3:1

My daily reading the past few days has been through the book of Ecclesiastes. As I look at my own life and the changes I've seen in the last two years, I have experienced many seasons. There is a time for everything, nothing stays the same except the reality of Jesus who is my Savior and the hope I have in his blood and righteousness.

Lately I've been saying 'now what'? Three children venturing out of the nest, not just to go over an hour away from mama and papa bird, but in another country fighting to keep the freedoms I enjoy, free. I do have one more birdie that isn't quite ready to be on her own, but life will definitely be different when school begins the end of summer.

One more verse that comes to mind everyday, several times a day is:

"...do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?"
Matthew 6:31

I sense Jesus taking my face in between his hands saying do not worry. Not just about whether I will have food to eat, clothes to wear or a place to lay my head, but do not worry about the physical and spiritual welfare of your children, who are really His, given to me and their father for a time.

Now what do I do?

"...pray without ceasing,..."
1 Thessalonians 5:17

When there is nothing else you can do, there is nothing He wants more than for you to pray without ceasing! We're praying for you and your family also!

So "be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world" ...and everything it brings!
