The Afternoon of Life

"Dr. Edward T. Welch writes that the fear of the Lord is 'reverent submission that leads to obedience, and it is interchangeable with worship, rely on, trust and hope in."
If the goal of my life is a fleshed-out acquaintance and worship that eventuates in submission and obedience to the King of my heart, then I won't find myself being unreliable, idle, self-centered, selfish, critical, self-indulgent, apprehensive, or vain. The driving motive of my life as I age won't be to try to look young or develop outward beauty. Rather,it will be to live out a love that had captivated my soul and made life worth living."
