Our lesson in Colossians on Sunday took us through the four chapters. Paul is writing to the believers of this church, his comrades. The central theme we found is Christ is Lord over all creation, how God has secured our redemption and how to combat the false teachings the church at Colossae is hearing.
Colossians 2:2 tells the kind of encouragement Paul is offering: full assurance, divine wisdom, and spiritual knowledge in Christ alone.
We want to know Christ and the reality and treasure of all that is ours in Christ.(KNB)
Everytime we sit down to read and study God's Word we always need to ask the Holy Spirit to teach us what His Word means. He will do that if we will but take the time to hear him speaking to us through the precious Word of God.

So true Jody. I catch myself beginning my study sometimes without asking for His illumination.
