[5 ] But the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loved you. [6 ] You shall not seek their peace or their prosperity all your days forever.

As I continue to read through the Bible this year using the reading plan in the back of my English Standard Version, I am continually amazed at the verses or passages that leap off the page. Whenever I begin to read or study I pray asking God to open His Word to my heart and mind. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when God answers those prayers.
I don't have any commentary to add to these verses, I am in awe every time I am reminded how much God loves me.
