Dark As Night

"God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me.
Yet I am not destroyed by the darkness,
by the thick darkness that covers my face."
JOB 23:16-17

"I know that all God does will last forever, there is no adding to it or taking from it. God works so that people will be in awe of Him."
Ecclesiastes 3:14

Even in darkness, when you can't see your hand in front of your face, and we do not understand the path or purposes of God, we can know that He is sovereign in all of His purposes in our lives and any circumstance or adversity we find ourselves in are meant to bring us to Him in reverence and awe.

As we continue our study in Job, we are over half done with this book. We see some glimmers of hope in the life of Job as there is no comfort at all to be found from those who have come to help him. They all say there is some awful sin that Job has committed to have this type of adversity and pain. They have come to the wrong conclusions and we will soon see in our study that Job is going to have a conversation with God.
Job has had his 'dark night of the soul' probably more than one night, but he still does not curse God or blame Him for anything.

I used to always say my Sweet Hubby had the patience of Job. Nothing riled him - he had the sweetest countenance!! The Book of Job is a tough one to read. I look forward to it and dread it all at the same time every year. But what an example he was!
