Thirteen Baptisms

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4

...having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:12

Sunday morning a baptism service was held with 13 people wanting to be obedient to Jesus Christ, following him in the rite of baptism. There were several teens and three families who walked into the waters of baptism yesterday morning.
Baptism is an outward symbol of the work of God in our hearts as we have passed from death to life.
It is a picture of how we are buried with Christ, going under the water, and as we are raised out of the water, it is a symbol of our new life. We are now in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. The old has passed away, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
What a privilege to have a front row seat as I took pictures of each one standing in the water to give their testimony of what Christ had one in their lives.
LaFayette Alliance Church launched their updated website last week. You can check here for pictures to be posted soon.
As the last one was baptized, with half the water now on the carpet and my husband drenched from head to toe, he said "this has to be what heaven will be like."
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound was the climatic song to this God-centered, God-glorifying service.

Awesome! I can picture it in my mind. And hear the singing.

AWESOME! Someone once explained baptism to me as 'an outward expression of an inward confession'. LOVE IT!

We had fourteen a few weeks ago and it is the most amazingly sweet experience. That is wonderful news, Jody!
