Now that Jacob is dead they have this to say:
So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, 'Your father gave this command before he died, Say to Joseph, please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you. And now please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.' Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
Genesis 50:17
Joseph, over the years, has become a man who loves God, following Him in all His ways. He tells his brothers to not fear. The evil they meant against him was used by God for good. He promises to provide for them and their families.
You can find the entire drama unfold in Genesis 35-50 which teaches us that God can transform any evil into good, God is the ultimate ruler over all and uses everything for his glory and our ultimate good.

You know, Beth Moore did a little commentary on the story of Joseph and his brothers...how they treated him. She said that she often wondered if maybe Joseph didn't have a little "air of superiority" about him, what with his splendid coat and favored son status! Kind of made Joseph a little more..."human!"
Joseph was young when he had these dreams, there was probably some "air" about him. His father gave him all the privileges the older son should have had. No wonder they were jealous. Jacob didn't do his sons any favors by making it known Joseph was his favorite. All God's plan!!
