True Beauty

  • Is my entire life devoted to the Lord and to the glory of God?
  • Am I a woman of the Book, loving it more than than anything else?
  • Do I help others know God's Word, serving them out of a love for God?
  • Am I a woman of prayer?
  • Am I intentional in reaching out to a hurting world and those around me who aren't exactly like me?
  • Is God the reference point for all of my life, His glory being the over-arching goal of my life?
  • If I am married, with children, do I love my husband and children?
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind...and your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22:37-39
As I continue my quest for a healthier lifestyle I remind myself on a daily basis that true beauty does not lie in the "eye of the beholder" but in the eyes of the God I love and serve.
What's in your beauty bag?

As Jody's husband, I think I can objectively state that Jody is indeed all of those things and more. She of course would never approve of my writing this comment, but as Proverbs 31:28 says: "Her children rise up and call her blessed; HER HUSBAND ALSO, AND HE PRAISES HER. I am truly thankful for a wife who loves God and her family. "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, BUT A WOMAN WHO FEARS THE LORD IS TO BE PRAISED." (Prov. 31:30) -Rob Gates
