How Would You Answer?

I came across this question recently, which has resulted in the wheels turning in my own brain. I have followed Jesus for thirty-six years, studying at Bible College for four, serving in ministry for twenty-five, leading and teaching women's Bible studies and Sunday School classes, discipled and mentored women, etc.etc. and yet...
Today I am struggling with how to share Jesus with someone I have known for a long time. There is hesitation on my part. Jill(not her real name) knows I have a "strong faith", her words, not mine. I want her to know more, I want her to know Jesus who can take away pain and suffering and be the lover of her soul. I want to be concise with the message, I want to be loving, I want her to see Jesus and not Jody.

What is the message of the Bible in one sentence? How would you answer that question?
Would you pray for me as I find my way to the foot of the cross today, asking the lover of my soul to so penetrate my heart and mind I will find the words for not just Jill but whomever he puts in my path.

Hi Jody Lynne,
I have often struggled with the same issue. Those closest to us are sometimes the ones hardest to reach for Christ. I have found that my personal testimonies of what Christ did in my life have left indelible impressions on these dear ones. In some instances it later prompted the person to give their life to Christ. When that didn't happen I simply prayed that Christ will send someone to water the seed that I had planted so that He would get the increase.

thank you for this post. i can so relate to this experience. i read in one booklet that Christ suffered so that He can help and symphatize with our weaknesses. imagine Christ is God and yet He wanted to go thru this suffering just so he can symphatize with us and leave us as example that we also suffer that we may help others as well. so in your struggles in reaching out to others can contribute to your mentoring others who have the same struggle.

it surely is humbling for us to share the good news to the ones we love. all we can say to them is we're fallen creatures but we know someone the only one who can save us all that is Christ.

thanks for this post.
