Double Cheeseburgers Every Day

I'd like a double cheeseburger, fries, and a soda, and could you super-size that? Make that a diet soda. There are some days this tastes so good, with the temptation to make it a daily habit rather than having to cook. This habit leads to extra pounds, clogged arteries and less change in my pocket. As I've been preparing for a weekly Bible study I will be teaching and one I will be a student in, there is the temptation to drive by God's Word the same way I eat fast food. It takes too much time for the process of careful reading, doing a word study, asking questions that take me into the Word rather than away from it, digging into the Living Word for myself. So even though the temptation exists to stop at every fast food restaurant that lurks on every corner, I know it's not a diet I should have on a daily basis. What about my meals of God's Word? Fast food or the meat that takes a few hours to prepare, sitting down to eat, letting it digest for a few days? "Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and delight of my heart;..." (Jeremiah 15:16) By the way, I've never super-sized!

Great thoughts Jody...its so easy to pick up a daily devotional...but not dig into the bible...that takes time! I enjoy your writing.
Love ya bunches ~ Lori
