A Book Review

Don't hold me to this friends, I'd like to start reviewing books. That said, I'm not sure how successful I will be or how often I will take the time to write a review.
For today I'm going to start with one I read over 10 years ago that I continue to go back to, recommending it to many over the years.
Loving God With All Your Mind by Elizabeth George was written in 1994 becoming a bestseller with an updated and expanded version published in 2005.
We were in our second pastorate and I needed a book to study for our women's group. With three children ages 7, 6, and 3 and a busy pastorate, I needed to be renewed, transformed and encouraged in my thinking and how I approached God's Word. I picked up the book read it in a few days, couldn't put it down, and knew this was the book I was looking for to lead the women of our church.

Mrs. George uses six key scriptural passages to help train our thoughts:
Chapter Titles include

--Philippians 4:8 Train Your Thoughts
--Matthew 6:34 Winning Over Worry
--Philippians 3:13-14 Pressing For The Prize
--Romans 8:28 Counting on God's Goodness
--Jeremiah 29:11 Living Out God's Plan
--Romans 11:33 Accepting The Unacceptable

She begins her introduction with an invitation to a changed life by incorporating God's Word into our lives on a daily basis. His Word is the only way true change takes place-renewing our minds by the eternal unchanging Word of God.
You can find it on Amazon located on my sidebar.
